Ribbons Quilt: June 2020

This quilt combines simple construction with smart color placement to create cheerful, curling ribbons. The drunkard’s path block provides a great introduction to curved piecing. Fabrics used in the sample quilt are Moda Bella Solids in Citrine, Spearmint, Dark Teal, and Royal.

About the Contributor

Sarah Ruiz is a quilter and aerospace engineer from Houston, TX. My creative and technical sides have always been intertwined, from drawing Disney characters and memorizing constellations as a kid to taking humans back to the moon and dreaming up new quilts today. Quilting perfectly combines my engineering and artistic mindsets, and I love the puzzle-solving required to turn an idea into reality. My quilts feature bright colors, bold lines, and graphic shapes that are easy to make but pack a visual punch.
