Drawing inspiration from traditional quilt blocks, let’s examine the transformation of a modern quilt design. As modern quilters look to the past for inspiration, log cabins are scaled to create a complete quilt from one block, dresdens are layered to create interesting designs and traditional churn dashes are used to frame a fussy cut. This lecture will focus on existing designs of the modern quilt movement, while encouraging attendees to create designs with inspiration from the past.
